This business area grew 7% in 2010, thanks to the consolidation of its activity in countries such as Mexico Brazil, India, Algeria and new operations in markets such as Chile, Uruguay, Panama, parts of the Persian Gulf, the Middle East and Asia.
Road construction accounts for 65% of the business in civil-engineering works, due to the intense activity in Spain and other countries, such as India, Mexico and Argentina.
India is one of the company's key markets. At the end of 2010, it had construction underway on four toll roads (NH-1, NH-2, NH-6 and NH-8), which add up to a total of 710 kilometres and an investment of over €1 billion.
In Mexico, Isolux Corsán has been building the Perote-Banderilla and Saltillo-Monterrey toll roads and in Argentina, corridor number 4 of the national road network. In Spain, it is building the sections from Torrijos to Olmedo (A-40) and Jaca (Huesca) to Navarra (A-21).
