Isolux Corsan has renewed the contract for the work of operation and maintenance of the floating power plant 'Boavista I', located in the fishing port of Luanda in Angola. The project has been commissioned by Prodel, the state company responsible for power generation in the country and has a budget of 14 million euros. Isolux Corsan that has been carrying out this works since April 2012, will continue performing it continuously, (24 hours per day) over the next two years.
The Power Plant is composed of two-a barge 96 meters in length and over 70 meters that have generated since its opening in 2012, more than one million two hundred thousand MWh for more than 66,000 hours of operation.
The barges provide electricity to important local industries and to different districts of the capital of Angola. New maintenance of 'Boavista I' contribute to the economic development of the country and allow the continuation of 36 jobs at the plant.
