Isolux Corsán has an R&D management system based on the UNE 166002 standard, allowing it to maximise the benefits of its R&D in all its projects. The system injects added value into the Group's products and provide it with a head-start when tackling future challenges.

Isolux Corsán knows that to remain competitive, it must remain on the forefront of research and development and maintain its edge in technological innovation as related to its products. To encourage R&D and continuously improve it, it has an R&D management system that provides tangible value added for the products it delivers its customers. However, the final beneficiaries are often end users and society as a whole.

With its active R&D programme, Isolux Corsán forms part of several technology platforms, associations and foundations aiming to boost research & development and trigger innovation in the economic sectors related to our activities. The strategic lines of research in these forums are:

  • Robotics and automation
  • Towns and buildings
  • Heritage conservations
  • Sustainable construction
  • Underground construction
  • Waste water management
  • Construction material
  • Biofuel production
  • Transmissions networks
  • Health and safety
  • Solar power farm control systems
  • Information & communication technologies (ICT)

In 2010, Isolux Corsán has carried out R&D projects with its in-house staff and working together with other companies, universities and research institutes, on the following lines:

  • Efficient, sustainable design and construction
  • Geotechnics and tunnels
  • Innovative methods in waste water treatment
  • Solar power farm systems
  • Harnessing of residual materials from waste water treatment

Isolux Corsán upholds its mission to foster R&D projects and hopes to increase the range of such projects in the future. It has thus actively coordinated the presentation of several research proposals to public and private entities that provide funding for corporate R&D projects.
