Description

Isolux Corsán builds an industrial complex in Colombia for the local company, Bioenergy. It includes one bioethanol plant using sugar cane, with a processing capacity of 2.1 tonnes of cane a year.

High-capacity bioethanol plant in Colombia.

This is a turnkey project, for the sum of US$ 140m. It also includes the construction of a 40-MW electrical cogeneration plant using the sugar cane residues and mash and other facilities for milling, distilling and producing lees for wine using the same raw material.

This industrial complex is being built in the Meta department, between the municipal districts of Puerto López and Puerto Gairán, an area with a long tradition of livestock farming which is now turning to the cultivation of arable crops, including sugar cane.

It has already executed projects in Spain, such as the biodiesel plants for Infinita Renovables in Ferrol (A Coruña), with an output capacity of 300,000 tonnes, and in Castellón, with an output capacity of 600,000 tonnes.

Isolux Corsán has also built biodiesel plants for Iniciativas Bioenergéticas in Calahorra (La Rioja), with an output capacity of 250,000 tonnes, and for the oil-producer, Koipe, in Andújar (Jaén), with an output capacity of 200,000 tonnes.
