Isolux Corsán is building a 340-MW combined-cycle electricity generation plant in Siddhirgan, one of Bangladesh's key industrial hubs located 20 km from the capital, Dacca.
The new power plant the Isolux Corsán will be building in Siddhirganj will upload the electricity it generates over a 230-kV line. This will further mesh the national power grid and boost its reliability. The facilities will be built with state-of-the-art technology. The group will also be connecting the plant to the existing gas pipeline network in the area.
The 340-MW plant will service one of the country's principal industrial hubs
The project forms part of the Bangladesh Energy Development Plan that Hasin Wajed's government has set up to achieve total electrification of the country by 2020. Bangladesh has the seventh largest population in the world, with 168m inhabitants. It also has one of the highest population densities, which means intensive demand for energy.
