Electrical power plant on floating stabilisers (Luanda) - Angola | Africa

Description

Isolux Corsán has built a 96 MW electricity power plant on floating stabilisers for the Government of Angola in a record time of four months.

Integrated solution to increase short-term supply of electricity.

This is part of the government's "Luanda Emergency Power Generation" project, aimed at off-setting the energy difficulties faced by the metropolitan area of Luanda (one of the largest cities in Africa) as soon as possible. The power plant is moored in Luanda Fishing Harbour.

The floating stabilisers hold two 48 MW gas turbines in open cycle, two 11.5 kV generators, two booster transformers (11.5/60 kV), electrical systems and BOP.
