Rovigo, the largest photovoltaic plant in Europe - Italy | Europe

Description

The largest photovoltaic power plant in Europe is located in Rovigo (Italy). It covers a surface area of 85 hectares and has an installed capacity of 72 MW. Its building and operation reaffirms Isolux Corsán's ongoing leadership amongst the major companies specialising in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contracts for solar photovoltaic power plants, as in just three years it has accumulated an installed capacity of 267 MW, mainly built in Spain and Italy.

The plant has an installed capacity of 72 MW.

The commissioning of this facility will generate sufficient clean energy to provide the annual electricity consumption of a town of 50,000 inhabitants, and will also avoid the emission of 41,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year, which is equivalent to the emissions of 8,000 cars driving on the open road.

For its construction, Isolux Corsán has installed 280,000 monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar modules. It has also incorporated state-of-the-art technology for centralised remote monitoring and operation, and for anti-intruder surveillance systems along its over 4-kilometre perimeter.
