Isolux Corsán has provided the city of Segovia one a modern parking facility at the very foot of the Roman Aqueduct, one of the busiest locations in the city.
The largest public carpark in Segovia.
This is a three level 542 space car park managed by the company under a 40-year concession agreement. This turned out to be a highly complex project because of the geological conditions of the terrain and the proximity of the aqueduct, requiring the excavation of over 85,000 m3 of earth and the use of 14,800 m3 of concrete.
Isolux Corsán has taken maximum precautions to avoid any impairment of the beautiful views in the area. The car park's passenger exits are thus made entirely of glass, including the ventilation shafts. The lifts are designed in such a way that they never remain at surface level for over one minute. This avoids blocking the view of the aqueduct as much as possible, protecting the visual aesthetics of the aqueduct (listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site).
