Thermal Power Plant in Futila (Angola) - Angola | Africa


Isolux Corsán has built an open cycle power plant with two 35 MW gas turbines and a complete 60 kV substation in the province of Cabinda, Angola. The project scope also included the refurbishment of a substation in the city of Cabinda as part of the double circuit 60 kV and 30 kV distribution lines needed to transport the electricity to end users.

This plant provide the Cabinda region with a stable source of energy and enough capacity given that its power grid is not connected to the rest of the country, encouraging the promotion of industry in this region.

The auxiliary equipment of the plant includes a natural gas Regulating and Metering Station, demineralized water plant, a fire fighting system and effluent disposal system. The project includes the construction of two new control buildings: one in the power plant and other at the Futila substation in Cabinda.

In addition to this project, Isolux Corsán has has carried out the rehabilitation and expansion of AT, MT, BT and IP lines of the cities of Sumbe and Porto Amboim in the province of Kwanza Sul for the National Electricity Company of Angola The Group has undertaken a project to build transmission lines, an electrical substation, transformer stations and networks to connect more than 3000 users in the cities of Cabinda and Landana for the first time.
