Isolux Corsán is leading the ABECAR IPT-2012-0078-310000 project (Aplicación de la Bioelectrolisis Catalítica en Aguas Residuales, or Application of Catalytic Biolelectrolysis to Waste Water) which, with an investment of almost one million euros and an estimated duration of 36 months, is being financed through the INNPACTO sub-program of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The main objective of this project, whose participants include the companies Isolux Engineering and Proingesa, as well as the University of León, is aimed at developing a pilot-scale biocatalytic electrolysis reactor for use in the treatment of urban waste water (UWW). The prototype that is expected to come out of this collaboration project must fulfill two clear goals: it must be able to remove a significant quantity of the organic matter in UWW, while at the same time transforming the energy content of that organic matter into hydrogen, a fuel that represents one of the main lines of energy development for the future. This satisfies the interests focused on the improvement of water treatment processes and also develops new ways to generate alternative energies.
The ABECAR consortium was created with the clear objective of accelerating the implementation of this new technology in water treatment plants. This project is the result of a preliminary project carried out jointly in collaboration with the University of León and financed by the CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial), which developed a technique for treating waste water by applying this method.
ADECAR IPT-2011-1450-310000 Project (Aplication of Capacitive Deionization to Waste Water) is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the European Regional Development Fund through the INNPACTO 2011 program. ISOLUX INGENIERÍA coordinates this project. PROINGESA, NANOQUIMIA, IMDEA ENERGÍA and the UNIVERSITY of CÓRDOBA also participate.
The general objective of ADECAR is to apply capacitive deionization to the regenaration of urban or industrial, fresh or brackish wastewater, to efficiently eliminate disolved nutrients such as ions containing nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfates.
ANAGUA ITC-20113009 project (Strategical Aplications for Nanotechnology in wastewaters) is financed by the CDTI and the European Regional Development Fund in the context of the INNTERCONECTA 2011 program. The project has had the support of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Information Agency of Galicia. ISOLUX INGENIERÍA coordinates this project. COPASA, MACRAUT, LEITAT, CETMAR, CETIM and the UNIVERSITY OF VIGO also participate.
The first objective pursued by the project is to investigate and develop nanotechnologies that are useful in the treatment and recuperation of processed water. Functioned polymer nanofibers (FPN) and photocatalyst nanofibers (PN) will be developed to achieve the objective of the project. The second objective pursued by the project is the building of better electronic sensors that help us measuring and controling the parameters associated with the processes taking place along our interventions.
PRECOIL IPT2011-1197-370000 Project (New Collective Prevention Intelligent Systems in Dynamic Environment of Linear Infrastructures) is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the INNPACTO 2011 convocation. CORSAN CORVIAM coordinates this project and CARTIF, FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, GEOCISA, AITEMIN and UPM also participate.
The objective is to reduce the occupational accidents rates in the linear infrastructures works, interacting with workers in order to alert hazardous situations at any moment.
The system is based on the use of sensors and the low-cost technologies, the dynamic environment monitoring on site and the low-cost technologies that workers carry and that are installed in machines and work-areas at site.
The project includes the assessment, design, development and implementation of the functional system which allows the localization of employees and hazardous areas uncontrolled in real time and it advices to everyone about any dangerous situation.
SEIRCO EXP 00064207/ITC-20133023 project (Intelligent Expert System for evaluation and formation of prevention of occupational Risks related to Building) is financed by the CDTI and the European Regional Development Fund in the context of the INNTERCONECTA 2013 program. The project has had the support of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Information Agency of Galicia. FCC CO coordinates this project. CORSÁN CORVIAM, IMATIA, FEMXA FORMACIÓN, SEGURINCO and the UNIVERSITY OF VIGO also participate.
The objective is to reduce occupational accidents investigating and developing new technologies for the improvement of the prevention of occupational risks in the building sector.
SETH IPT2012-0703-380000 Project (Comprehensive structural monitoring system for buildings based on Holistic Technologies) is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the INNPACTO 20112 convocation. CORSAN CORVIAM coordinates this project. FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, GEOCISA, CSIC and UPM also participate.
The objective is to develop a permanent monitoring system which is capable of detecting and evaluating the evolution of structural damage. This evaluation will be made by the analysis of the vibrations modes of the buildings.
Two different systems will be developed: a high precission removable system and a low price monitoring system for continued use. The first one is used to understand the vibration modes of the building. The second one allows the detection of structural damage and the generation of alarms that can lead to a study of the structural state of the building or to the vacation of the building.
In order to develop these systems the project requires the study and development of new authomatized calculations, acquisition and processing modules, wireless communications and the definition of risk levels.
TREFO ITC-20133003 project (Regeneration and treatment of return wastewater currents based on new Forward Osmosis technologies and microbial fuel cell) is financed by the CDTI and the European Regional Development Fund in the context of the INNTERCONECTA 2013 program. The project has had the support of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Information Agency of Galicia. ISOLUX INGENIERÍA coordinates this project. EMALCSA, MACRAUT, QUANTUM, CETIM, SOIL, AIMEN, and the UNIVERSITIES of VIGO, LEÓN and BARCELONA also participate.
The objective of the project is to evaluate the technical, economical and environmental issues derived from the application of new regeneration technologies to effluents that are usually retourned to the start of the regeneration process (return currents), with a high concentration of nutrients.
